Justice For Robert Fuller: Body found hanging from tree in Palmdale

A young black man found hanging from a tree in Palmdale on Wednesday. He has been identified as Robert Fuller who is 20-year-old by the family.

Police found the body around 4 am hanging from a tree in Poncitlan Square.

The Dean of the  Los Angeles Country Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau in a statement said, “All indicators point to a suicide” for Fuller’s death, “but investigators are waiting for full autopsy results and information from the man’s next of kin regarding past issues with mental illness.”

People after hearing the unclear statements of the authorities felt something fishy and once again united with #JusticeForRobertFuller on Twitter.

  1. You noted that there’s no evidence that this was a lynching. What evidence is there that this is a suicide? If none, you should also note that.

As a white person, I can’t imagine a Black person who would kill themselves in the style of historical lynchings knowing the way that would reverberate through the Black community and the way it would make his family think he was murdered in an act of racial terrorism.

If there is not overwhelming evidence that this was suicide, like video, then we should proceed with robust investigations of the situations as if it were a lynching. If it looks like a duck…

    • The police alleging that this was a suicide, or that “indicators” point to suicide without providing any evidence is not, in and of itself, evidence. Police allegations are not more credible than citizen allegations. I would go as far as saying they are actually less credible.
