Limitless is a 2015 American comedy-drama television series, which is a spin-off of the movie of the same name, limitless starring Bradley Cooper, which in turn is based on the 2001 novel Dark Fields by Alex Glynn.
As the name suggests, the series is based on a controversial drug called NZT-48, which supersedes the brain’s limits, making a person a superhuman. Scarlett Johansson starring Lucy was also established on this theme.
Earlier, a sequel to the movie was expected, but with the turn of events, the sequel got the face of television series. The show started from the circumstances where the movie ended, except it was four years ahead of the timeline shown in the film.
The series began with Bradley Cooper remitting as Edward Moora, giving the baton (NZT) to Brian Finch (Jake McDorman). Brian Finch then takes that drug and helps intelligence agencies solve arduous crimes. Bradley Cooper recurs his role in various episodes, guiding and enlightening him about the drug’s side effects.
Limitless Season 2 Release Date
Limitless season 1 opened with a bang because of the hype the movie had created. But, as the show progressed, it failed to gain sufficient viewership. It also got entangled into legal controversies. The show revolved around a drug that enhances mental prowess of the mind, which sends a wrong message to teenagers considering the rampant drug abuse in the USA.
Some reports have surfaced, which shows that the producers are thinking of shifting the storyline, from NZT drug to some new topic, although the second season will circle the NZT drug, as the storyline will proceed they will slowly weed out the drug from the series.
CBS is very skeptical about renewing the second season.
The reason is rumored to be because of NZT. So, this left the producers to look out for other streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime to release, and it’s worth thinking whether even the streaming giants will accept the show with open hands or it will do the same as CBS.
As the series ended in mystery, fans expect it to be renewed for the second season to quench their curiosity. Until this time, no news has come up, neither from the producers nor from the streaming platforms about Limitless season 2.

The sequel is highly anticipated to feature Jake McDorman playing the titular character of Brian Finch. As Bradley Cooper’s character Edward Moora will run for senate, we are expected to see Bradley Cooper reprising a prominent role, not the guest role that he played in the season one.
Rumors are going around, the writers of the show are instructed to bring Rebecca and Boyle’s characters at par with Brian Finch’s character. Although Brian finch will remain the lead character, improvisation is going to be done on other characters.

What will happen in Limitless season 2? Plot
As sources have stated, NZT will disappear in season two, which will certainly impact Finch and Moora both. The sequel could be based on how they solve the problems without the drug. Season one showed that Edward Moora would run for senate, the sequel is most probably expected to revolve around that and his frenemies in the political circle.
As the drug is no more available, Finch has to depend on Rebecca and Boyle for solving cases, which means in the sequel, the characters of Rebecca and Boyle are going to get more screen time.
The show has very much to offer for the sequel, with Bradley Cooper expected to reprise his movie character in a TV series, it is going to be an enthralling experience for viewers.
Why are Netflix & Amazon Prime hesitating to release the sequel?
Because of the show’s controversial nature, Netflix and Amazon Prime are reluctant to go for the sequel. Earlier there was news that there is a tug of war like situation between both the platforms for the sequel, after seeing the ratings of first few episodes.
But when the viewership started dropping and the controversies it got entrapped in, both the streaming giants backed off a little.
Executive directors of both the streaming giants are still mulling over whether to give a chance to Limitless or not, as per now, there is no news from any of the streaming giants about Limitless season 2.
