Mohenjo Daro 7th / 8th Day Collection, MD 1st Thursday / Friday Box Office Total 7 / 8 Days Report and Occupancy: The movie opened up with a decent response at the Box office. It booked the sixth slot in the stack of the Highest Opening Weekend for 2016 at the Domestic Box Office.
Check: Rustom Box Office Collection
For the opening weekend, Hrithik Roshan directorial made Rs 40.90 crore. This time, the weekend consisted of four days, due to the Independence Day holiday.
Though the director Gowariker worked upon the screenplay for the half of the decade, but the movie didn’t open up for the response it was hoped for. After making some handsome money at the weekends, the movie made around Rs 3.5 crore* on Tuesday. This drastic dip is expected because of the weekdays.
After that, on the next day, the movie would have made Rs 3 crore* at the Domestic Box Office. With this, the expected collection after the end of 6-day run accounts for Rs 46 crore.
Mohenjo Daro 7th Day Collection
The occupancy for the start of the week days was around 30%, which is continuously falling as the ay counts move on. On the counterpart, Rustom made around Rs 75.94 crore in the 5- day runs at the BO. The difference is substantially great when compared to the pre-release hype created by the flick.
With the occupancy falling drastically as the day are passing by, the movie is expected to make Rs 2.75 crore* on its 7th day.
The flick opened up to the mixed reviews but failed to create any major buzz. The film came up as a disappointment to the industry, as it failed to lure the footfalls for itself. The return of Hrithik Roshan after two years with the expectation to create a magic similar to Jodha Akbar was totally ruined. The movie failed to come true on its trade expectations and a big budget.
Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapoor and Sunita Gowariker under the banner of Disney’s UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, the adventure drama was made out of a budget of Rs 100 crore with additional Rs 15 crore spent on the promotions.
Eventually, the flick made Rs 60 crore before its release from the sale of music rights to T-Series and the satellite rights to Star TV. With the audience choosing AKshay’s romantic courtroom drama over Hrithik adventure romance, Mohenjo Daro failed to capitalise the four-days-long Independence Day Weekend.
With the 6-day run at the BO, it is now sky-clear that Akshay Kumar’s Rustom dominated the screens, with Independence Day working in its favour. Hrithik Roshan’s return to the silver screen was not much soothing and the movie is in the Rocky Mountains.
