The Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi after interaction with the Sarpanchs of the nations decided to launch E-Gram Swaraj Portal on Panchayati Raj Day.
This comes under Swaitva Scheme and known as E-Gram Swaraj Portal.
During the tough times of coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister via video conference with Sarpanchs said, “Now, broadband has reached more than 1.25 lakh panchayats. Not only that, the number of common service centres in villages is also crossing three lakh”.
It all has been done to digitalize this segment of India and for the development of the various villages of the country.
This single platform is made to keep all of the records of the work promises done by the Gram Panchayats.

Prime Minister also said, “All the details of the development works, the fund allocated for them, all this data will be available on the portal. And through this platform the villagers will be able to access all the data on their mobile phones which will enhance transparency.”
This ‘Swamitva Scheme’ is coming to existence for the delimitation of the unused land in rural areas. This will be done by making use of advanced technologies like drones.
