TLK is a Netflix original series adapted from the The Saxon Stories written by Bernard Cornwell. BBC was its original producer while Netflix co-produced it later on. The Last Kingdom Plot

The Last Kingdom’s story revolves around a young boy named Osbert who is rased by the Danes. His uncle betrayed him and thus he was taken from his ancestral home. When taken, his name was changed to Uhtred, and is raised as a son of Earl Ragnar. After sometime, Ragnar put his part of the blame on Uhtred when his banished shipmaster returns to take revenge upon him.

After that, Ragnar was left with no choice than to flee with his lover Brida. They leave for the Kingdom of Wessex. Uhtred was left alone by Ragnar that forced him to serve King Alfred. Under that service, he was ordered to train the armies of Alfred to fight and protect the kingdom from invading Danes. Uhtred still dreams to reclaim his birthright by going back to his ancestral home.

The Last Kingdom Season 4 Release Date: When will it premiere on Netflix?

The fourth installment of TLK is scheduled to be released no April 26, 2020, Sunday, on Netflix. Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, numerous productions have been stalled. But, the fans of this Netflix series don’t have to wait any longer for the series to drop. Its filming was already over in October 2019.

What will happen in The Last Kingdom season 4? Plot/Storyline

The new installment will bring the story a decade in the future. The fourth season of The Last Kingdom has been adapted from the book titled ‘The Pagan Lord. If Netflix stays true to the book’s story, then we could some new actors in the act. Dreymon will be featured as a little older version of Uhtred of Bebbanburg. He thinks that the right time has come to challenge his uncle Aelfrica played by British actor Joseph Millson.

Yes, an official promo video featuring the events of the upcoming season has been featured. It features battle scenes of epic and brutal violence on huge open fields. At his lowest point, Uhtred can be heard saying: “I’ve lost my home, I’ve lost my name….I’m no longer Uhtred of Bebbanburg.”

The ancestral home of Uhtred has been featured several times in the trailer. Let’s see if this is the actual installment in which he gets successful in reclaiming his home.
