The Promised Neverland became one of the best anime series in 2019. It wasn’t a surprise when the series got renewed for season 2. Yakusoku no Neverland is a mystery-thriller anime. It has grown more towards the adventurous side. Fans are eager to know how will Emma keep her word.

Initially, season two was supposed to be released in April 2020. However, it has been delayed, and now fans are eager to know when the show will be back with the next installment. So, let’s get into the details and find out more about the plot, cast, release date, etc.

What happened in TPN season 1? Recap

In the first installment, we were introduced to a group of orphans who lived in Grace Field House orphanage. Emma who is the main cast of the show discovered that the orphanage was sacrificing orphan children to demon.

She certainly didn’t want to be sacrificed, so she and her friends created an escape plan. She and her friends escaped the orphan but there were still children stuck in the orphanage. The installment ended with Emma promising the other kids that she will be back to save them.

What will The Promised Neverland season 2 be about? Plot

The Yakusoku no Neverland season 2 likely will revolve around the promise Emma has made to other kids. It will be interesting to see if Emma will be able to keep her promise or not. Whether she will overcome all the obstacles before she can save everyone. The director of the show Mamoru Kanbe said that this installment will have more obstacles.

There is going to be the same level of tension and suspense in the second installment as well. It may also reveal the relation of Isabella with the demons. She is the mother of the children in the orphanage and also the biological mother of Ray. There are also going to be revelations in relation to Emma’s past.

Minerva’s character remained a mystery throughout season one. This installment may reveal her character and the importance of the demon forest as well. The forest was seen towards the end of the installment one when Emma escaped the orphanage. Although we still don’t know if it is related to the demon in the orphanage.

When will The Promised Neverland season 2 release (date)? Premiere

It was supposed to hit the screens in October 2020 itself. However, the pandemic has forced delays in productions. So, it has been delayed until 2021. We will be seeing the show possibly in early 2021.

However, no specific date has been announced so far. We will have to wait for more news on that. It will be airing on Toonami. The production work has been handed to CloverWorks. The first installment had a total of 12 episodes.
