The “Vedhalam” (Vedalam) is going wild on Tamil Nadu box office. The movie has created a history by breaking previous opening day records and got the status of the biggest opener of Kollywood.

The Ajith’s movie was successful in grabbing approximately Rs. 15.5 on the first day of release in Tamil Nadu state only. The trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai confirmed by posting:
#Vedalam TN – Gross (tax free), Diwali Day – 10 Nov – Rs 15.5 Cr (approximate). A new record for a day 1.
It simply suggests that the “Vedhalam” had broken the records of “Kaththi” featuring Vijay and Rajnikanth’s “Lingaa” which collected only Rs. 12.5 Cr and 12.8 Cr respectively on their opening day. The Ajith’s super hit movie was released on above 500 screens in the state of Tamil Nadu only.
The early estimation for the first day as already reported was between Rs. 14.5 Cr and Rs. 16 Cr in Tamil Nadu only. Everyone now eagerly wants to know the worldwide collection of the flick and the same is soon going to out which will make the producer happier.
Despite having huge competition of “Thoongavanam” starring Kamal Haasan the “Vedhalam” is able to defence the same and not only this the number of screens is also less for Ajith’s flick when compared to “Thoongavanam” having 800.
“Vedhalam” (Vedalam) got mixed reviews from big critics and some of them considered this to be the regular entertainer. The audiences loved the movie might be because of the emotional quotient of the film.
