Alexa and Katie gave us major friendship goals and became the most lovable characters for the audience. The show was initially released in 2018, created by Heather Wortham. Season four ended with Katie and Alexa heading off to college. With that, the show’s premise of school-going friends concluded. Although season three was the longest of all and was comprised of 16 episodes, it gave fans the perfect opportunity to say goodbye.
This season came in two parts, where the first half was comprised of eight episodes released in December 2019, and the second half of the show consisting of the last eight episodes that came out in June 2020.
However, this led fans to believe that the latter part was the fourth season of the show. Unfortunately, this happened to be the last season/part. In 2019, Netflix had announced that season three was going to conclude the show.
Paris mentioned in an interview that she had a hard time letting go of Alex and Katie. Everyone on the team had become one big family. May also said in an interview that she will forever be grateful for telling this story.
Alexa and Katie Plot: What is the show about?
Alexa and Katie revolve around two friends trying to survive high school. When Alexa gets diagnosed with cancer, their world is shaken. They are making their life at school harder. It deals with high school problems and the disease. Making it light-hearted and yet dives more into the characters, making it relatable for the audience.
The finale showed that the duo graduated from high school and prepared to go to college. Alexa tried leaving cancer behind, but it was difficult for her to steer forward after having been through so much.
Meanwhile, Katie was having a hard time getting ready for this next chapter of life. With the help of each other, they moved forward.
