First released in April 2020, Gangs of London had the audience connect to the show easily. This TV series airs on Sky Atlantic in the UK and Cinemax in the US. Like we judge how successful a movie is with its opening and the earnings it makes on the first day, we saw that GoL registered 2.23 million viewers in for the first episode which alone says the hype it created before being launched.
Not just that, it then was also binge-watched by 1 million people within a fortnight which just sounds amazing. I am sure there are many fans now waiting to hear the news of the upcomig installment. Is there a season 2? What will be the plot? Who is in the cast? etc. Let’s dive into the details.
Is there a season 2 of Gangs of London?
As of now, there has been no announcement for the renewal of the show. However, we do know that the statistics for the show were amazing. It was the second most-watched show of the network after Chernobyl (mini-series). So, this hints a lot towards the renewal of the series. We are hoping that it will come back. However, we will have to wait for any further announcements.
Who is in the cast of Gangs of London season 2?
In season one finale, we saw that Sean (Joe Cole) was shot by Elliot. Even a police officer said that he was deceased. However, the director of the show said this scene had been planned from the beginning so it seems like he really is dead but we cannot judge this too soon. Co-creator has hinted that there is a possibility that Sean is still alive but we will only know if season two comes out.
Other than that, we are expecting Sean’s mother Marian played by Michelle Fairley, Elliot played by Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù, Alex played by Paapa Essiedu, Ed played by Lucian Msamati, Shannon played by Philippa Bennett-Warner, Finn’s mistress Floriana played by Arta Dobroshi, Lale played by Narges Rashidi, Asif played by Asif Raza Mir, Luan played by Orli Shuka, Mosi played by Richard Pepple.
We even saw Billy and Jacqueline leave London, but there is still a slim chance that they will come back for a cameo or so. There have also been hints about a new antagonist in the show. Nothing has officially announced so far. (check: Panchayat Season 2.)
What will the GoL season 2 plot be?
We now know that Elliot was an undercover cop and there was a secret relationship between Elliot and Dumani’s daughter Shannon. It will be interesting to see what is in store for them. There were a lot of loose ends in the finale which can bring new possibilities in the show. Gen has mentioned that Elliot might go to the dark side in installment two.
It can also be possible that the mysterious Investors may play an important role in what happens next. We could also see Floriana going to Marian to form an allegiance. It will be very interesting to see what will happen with each character as all of them have added sparks on the show.
When will the trailer for Gangs of London season 2 come out?
As of now, the renewal of the show has not been announced, but the chances are it will be renewed. If the show gets renewed soon and if the odds are in our favor, we will see this show come out next year. As of now, we don’t have any trailer for the next installment. When will Gangs of London season 2 release (date)?
As you already know, almost all of the tv and film productions have been shut down because of the obvious reason. So, it becomes tricky when will things get back in order. Until things start, everything including the premiere will remain up in the air. In the best-case scenario, we can expect it to be released in April 2021.
