When will Inside The World’s Toughest Prisons season 5 release? Premiere Date
Initially, Inside The World’s Toughest Prisons was set to release only three seasons. However, with success the show has seen, it got renewed for the fourth installment.
The Emporium Productions website stated that ‘Inside The World Toughest Prisons seasons four and five are coming soon to Netflix.’ It indicates that we will see installment five soon. Not much is known yet, but if the production starts by the end of 2020, we may see the fifth season in July 2021.
Inside The World’s Toughest Prisons Season 5 Cast
Since the second installment, we have seen Raphael Rowe as the host of the show. He is a UK-based investigative journalist who served twelve years in jail after he was found guilty in 1990 for murder and a series of robberies as a part of M25 Three.
He was released from prison after being proven innocent of the crimes. Without him, the show may look incomplete. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that we will see him visiting some more prisons in season five.
In each installment, we see different people serving their sentences in various prisons. So it’s unclear as of now who we will see in the fifth installment apart from Rowe. However, stay tuned, and we will update you as soon as a new piece of information arrives.

Up until now, we have seen prisons from different places around the world. In installment four, we got insights from the jails in Paraguay, Germany, Mauritius, and Lesotho.
The inmates in the Maseru Central Prison are majorly held for crimes like rape and sexual assault. Lesotho is quite famous for such crimes. Raphael sheds light on the daily threat of rape in Lesotho.
The Melrose Prison in Mauritius is known for its merciless conditions. However, they also give inmates a chance to change themselves and learn essential skills.
The most dangerous inmates are kept in Schwalmstadt Maximum Security Prison in Germany, where they are made to confront their issues to change their lives.
Meanwhile, Tacumbu Prison in Paraguay has prisoners from various backgrounds. But the jail condition is so bad that they have to go through the prison’s trash to find food scraps to cook and sell.
Season five will likely take us on the journey to find some more prisons from around the world, depicting extreme measures taken by the prisoners to survive.
