Knightfall came early in 2017 and had a tough time amongst the audience. It saw a good number of viewers in season one to get renew for another installment. However, when Knightfall season two came out the viewership rate dropped. Since the second installment concluded there was no news on whether the show was going to return for one more time or not. The show is set in the 1300s follows accounts of Knight Templar’s rise, fall, and suppression by King Philip IV.

Knightfall Season 2 Recap: What happened in the finale?
Season two ended with what we had been anticipating for all this time. Landry put the sword into King Philip’s chest. This installment focused more on the devotee and repent side of Landry. He found his purpose again in training his new Templar brothers and keeping his daughter safe.
Gawain also joined his brothers in the last stand against the king. Although some annoying characters were ratting them out to the king. The Knight Templars succeeded in doing what they had planned.
The show ended with a possibility of a new season and it would have been possible given the show received good response. There were many storylines yet to be covered. However, with open possibilities, we can only make our assumptions and storylines.

Will there be a season 3 of Knightfall?
Unfortunately, History has canceled the show after two seasons. Given the drop that the show saw in Knightfall season two, it was coming. The show saw around 50% drop in the show’s second installment. A bigger network may have achieved success with the show by attracting hype towards the show.
History even brought Mark Hamill from Star Wars in season two. Still, it didn’t work out very well and the rate didn’t improve. However, the network has also canceled its other project called Project Blue after two seasons. Looks like they will have to look for different shows for their channel like Breaking Bad and Mad Men. The chances of this show coming back are slim. Due to the lack of fan following a probable Save Knightfall campaign will not be possible. After all, it comes to the audience who watch the show.
