The format of some shows is so unique that they left a lasting impression on the viewer’s mind. Netflix’s Love Is Blind is that kind of show. Its popularity could be understood by the fact that the contestants had garnered up to 100k Instagram followers in a few days, giving them a celebrity blue tick (on Instagram).

Love is Blind: Format/Plot of the Show

The format of the show is to make connections between two persons without any physical interaction; communication is through their pods (small lounges), separated by an opaque curtain.

They will get to see other’s faces only when one proposes, and the other accepts it.
And, after that they will go on a holiday together, testing their relationship in the outside world, confirming whether they’re ready for marriage or not.

If it is yes from both sides, they make it official. Otherwise, they part their ways.

Love is Blind Season 2 Release Date

A season 1 reunion had already happened on Netflix’s YouTube channel, presented by Vanessa & Nick. All six couples opened about their relationship struggle outside the pods.

Netflix also announced in March 2020 that the show is getting renewed for two more seasons, but due to the pandemic, we could guess season 2 to come in early 2021.

The first five episodes of the first installment were dropped on Netflix on February 13, 2020. The rest of the episodes were released on February 20. The finale arrived a week later.

As of now, we don’t know if we would have to wait for another year for the next installment. It’s because of the coronavirus pandemic that has stalled the majority of the productions. So, the arrival time of post-February 2021 looks possible.

Love is Blind Season 2 Casting and Auditions

The casting of the show is undergoing in Chicago, Illinois; which hints that the next contestants will be mostly from Chicago city, as the first installment was shot in Atlanta City and all of the contestants were also from Atlanta.

Auditions will be conducted by the casting department, which reaches out to the people who are genuinely looking for a long-term relationship, not the attention-seeking one.
Applications for season 2 are open.

Individuals have to go to the official site & sign up there, the minimum age to apply is 21 years old, then upload two photographs, current relationship status, qualities wanted in the desired partner, and after that, the team will contact for auditions.

How is ‘Love is Blind’ different from other reality dating tv shows?

Most other shows start with relationships than love. Here the creators went in reverse gear; first contestants fall in love then a relationship begins.

It has answered the age-old question, whether love is blind? And, yes it is indeed, but people are not, the moment they step out of those lounges to the real world, their relationship goes through different challenges.

And this is what catches the viewer’s attention, as the contestants are real one ( not celebrities), the audience connects to them more as their reactions are genuine.
