Shazam is a superhero movie released in 2019, directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by New Line Cinema. A fourteen-year-old boy named Billy Batson arrives at another foster home where he meets another kid Freddy Freeman who also happens to be a superhero enthusiast.
Soon, Billy becomes the superhero – Shazam – and begins exploring his powers with Freddy and becomes famous. In the end, Shazam, with the help of his superhero siblings (who recently turned), defeats Sivana, the Sin’s vessel.
To present all the Shazam fans with some fantastic news, a second installment has been confirmed by the makers. Therefore, we are destined to watch another movie packed with a good dose of entertainment. Although, the film was initially set to release in April 2022. Now, along with many other DC films, Shazam! 2 has taken a seven-month leap. It will soon premiere in November 2022.
Shazam 2 Plot: What Happens Next?
Dr Thaddeus Sivana was sent to prison after he lost to Shazam and his newly superpowered siblings. In the middle of the credits, Sivana is visited by Mister Mind- a highly intelligent caterpillar who is a significant supervillain in the comics.
Mister Mind is a major threat with his own Monster Society of Evil, where Dr Sivana is a frequent member. He further mentions the “seven realms” that refers to the “Rock of Eternity” in the comic books. With the Shazam family finally settles with their superpowers, the sequel could explore these realms in detail.
In fact, with Mister Mind’s help, Dr Sivana could escape the prison and go after the realms to acquire the Seven Deadly Sins. As for Billy, he was well-accepted in the family the moment he entered the house. But now, he accepted the family as his own. We could also watch more family time and bonding.
Who is in Shazam 2 cast?
Shazam cannot be made without Zachary Levi as Shazam or Asher Angel as William Batson aka Billy. So, their return is confirmed. As for the rest of the siblings and their superhero self will also return.

Dr Sivana (Mark Strong) will probably make his return too. Speaking of Black Adam, he will not appear in the film until the threequel since DC wants to make a standalone Black Adam movie first. So yes, you guessed it correct- there will be the third installment as well.
Shazam 2 Release Date: Why is it being delayed?
As we have already mentioned about the sequel’s seven-month delay, the repercussions are quite risky. The second movie takes place in the same timeline. The makers and film editors will have to use the de-aging method to make them look like brand new teenagers since the age factor cannot be overlooked. Let’s not stress ourselves and let the creators find their appropriate solution.
On the contrary, the 2022 release of the film will allow it not to clash with movies like Black Panther and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2. It is expected to release on November 4, 2022.
