The plot of the anime is all about a boy, Ken Kanei who meets with a ghoul which is female. After sometimes, the boy himself becomes half-ghoul. This made Kaneki difficult to live in the human society and struggles to hide his evilness. But slowly he learns to control the lust for the human flesh.
A trusted source, Saiko Plus added an update that the delay for the release of the next season of the series is mainly due to the insufficient material for its broadcasting. They also added that the creator has not considerable content to start the production. As already mentioned above that the audiences are disappointed with the work of the creators in the second season. The fans have also given feedback to the makers for the same.
And now they have been working hard to fulfil the expectations of the fans. Previously the major things that the audiences disliked are some plot holes and bad character development. The studio for the production of the next season is considering every minor detail of the character and story to impress the fans.
Though, it is also believed that the adaptation of the original manga in an action is the solid reason for this much of delay in the release.
