The report of former President of the USA, Barack Obama, giving Jeffrey Epstein the Medal of Honor/Freedom in 2007, is making rounds on the internet. But, it’s just a rumor and false information being spread. Here is our detailed report.
Several websites/news sites are reporting that in 2007, immediately after his inauguration, Obama held a Medal of Satiiri Freedom Awards Ceremony. Such reports include that there was one individual award recipient who stood out from the rest – the now deceased, prolific abuser, Jeffrey Epstein.
Did Barack Obama Award Jeffrey Epstein The Medal of Honor/Freedom in 2007?
Let’s start by busting the first myth in these reports. On November 4, Barack Obama won the presidency with 365 electoral votes to 173 received by John McCain. (Source: Wikipedia.) And the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President took place on January 20, 2009, as mentioned here on Wikipedia itself.
So, it is crystal clear that Obama wasn’t even the President of the US. Therefore, how could he award someone a medal that is meant to be awarded by the President? Hence, it’s a false claim. Obama served two terms in the office. Here’s the list of Medal of Freedom recipients during his time in the White House. He awarded the most number of medals – 123.
Firstly, George Washington Bush was the US President from January 20, 2001, to January 20, 2009. He also served two terms in the office. And secondly, George W Bush hadn’t awarded Epstein the Medal of Freedom/Honor.
Moreover, in 2007, the medals were awarded on November 5 by then-President Bush. There is no mention of Jeffrey Epstein in it. The following is the list of the winners of the time.
- Gary Becker, 1992 Nobel economics prize winner
- Oscar Elias Biscet, an anti-abortion and pro-democracy activist and political prisoner in Cuba
- Francis Collins, Human Genome Project leader
- Benjamin Hooks, US civil rights leader
- Retired Rep. Henry Hyde of Illinois and former chairman of the House Foreign Affairs committee
- Harper Lee, author of the book To Kill a Mockingbird
- Brian Lamb, founder of the C-SPAN cable public affairs network
- Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, President of Liberia and the first woman elected to head an African country
You can check all the recipients of this award to date, as mentioned on Wikipedia.

More Theories/Rumors About Jeffrey Epstein
Such theories/fake rumors have been spreading after the arrest of Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Recently, a flight log list of people who went to Epstein’s private island was leaked. It has world-known names on it.
Another rumors it that Tom Hanks was arrested. Some even are of the belief that he was executed. It is because of the fact that he has not posted anything on his social media handles for a long time now, which is not a common thing.
However, for a long time now, people have been accusing him of being a pedophile. The list of people accusing him of the same includes Hollywood insiders like Isaac Kappy, who mysteriously “committed suicide” on Route 66 after accusing Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Seth Green, and others of being pedos.
Conclusion: The former US President Barack Obama didn’t award Jeffrey Epstein the Medal of Freedom/Honor in 2007. In fact, he was never awarded during his lifetime.
