The fantasy drama starring Katherine Langford was released on July 17, 2020. Cursed was one of the most hyped about series, in recent times, because of the storyline and the cast. It recites the story of Arthurian legends by Nimue, who becomes Lady of the Lake eventually.
Since it’s freshly launched with all the ten episodes to binge-watch, the audience contemplates a season 2. We’re going to answer your doubts and queries about a potential season two here and what we might witness in the next season. So, let’s begin already.
Has Cursed been renewed for Season 2?
Netflix doesn’t revive a story until the charts and numbers come into the picture. The studio takes a minimum of two to three months to announce and work the renewal of a show based on its popularity and other demographics.
The fantasy drama is already on #2 spot on Netflix, which means it’s already being watched and recommend. As a result, we think that Netflix will renew the series for several reasons to follow along with the article.
When will Cursed season 2 release? Premiere Date
Cursed season 2 might take a little longer than we might like, and it’s not only because of the Covid-19 outbreak but also because the show is based on an actual book with the same name by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler.
Until there is a second book, there may not be a second season. Thus, we might have to look for a book release first then the series.
However, it is also possible that the book may not be continued, but it has a slim chance. With that being said, Tom Wheeler has hinted at a second book, saying, “I’m a lifelong Frank Miller fan, and this collaboration has been the unlikeliest of bucket listings… I’m so thankful for his trust, his wisdom, and his idea to ally Sister Iris with an army of killer children (a must for book two).”
This is a hint, and one’s thinking and cognition always influenced by hints. We’d like to take this hint as a sequel book followed by a series renewal.
What is Cursed about? Plot
Nimue, a young woman, begins her journey with Arthur to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. In their quest, they face many difficulties and adversities, such as The Red Paladins and King Uther.
Coming to the final of the series, we saw Sister Iris shooting Nimue, who plunges in the waterfall and is allegedly dead. Witnessing these events, Merlin reclaims the Sword of Power to regain his magical powers.
We also see Arthur joining an alliance with The Red Spear after Cumber, The Ice King, his Viking rival arrives while The Weeping Monk severs his ties with The Red Paladins and reveals to Squirrel that his real name is Lancelot.
When the second season comes around, it will show how Nimue survived because of the magical abilities she held. She might also come up as Lady of the Lake and finally explore her role furthermore.

Cursed Season 2 Trailer
A trailer landing is a little unfavorable at the moment because it’s a long way to go. We are still waiting for Netflix to announce the renewal and we’re yet to speak to the creators of the show. But we expect the season to come out in late 2021 or early 2022 because of the lengthy procedure ahead.
Does The Book Offer Any Clue?
As of July 2020, there are no installments/parts of Cursed. Frank Miller and Thomas Wheeler have created it as a standalone graphic novel for now. So, there are no sequel to it in sight. The book was released in October 2019 only. It means that a sequel is far away if it would be happening.
However, co-author and showrunner Wheeler has already teased a sequel. Its journey from page to the screen does show some hint towards a second season. In 2018, the streaming giant Netflix had bought the television rights to Cursed even before the release of the book. So, it seems that Netflix believes in this project.
