Prison School has been one of the most anticipated series so far. Fans have been waiting to hear the news for season two for the longest time. Will there be a sequel for PrisonSchool anime series? Let’s find out.
Based on a Japanese manga created by Akira Hiramoto, Prison School initially came out in 2015. It was loved by many for its plotline and characters. The show revolved around an all-girls boarding school, Hachimitsu Private Academy, known for its discipline and strictness. The show concluded in 2015, and since then, the wait for the second season has been ongoing.
Will there be Prison School season 2? Release Date
So far, the makers of the show have not renewed or canceled the show. However, the manga has been going strong and doing well even today. It has an average of 4500 buyers per volume which somehow doesn’t sound very good for the series.
Naoyuki Uchida, an author of mystery and horror novels, sent a tweet to Mizushima, who directed the series Prison School asking if there would be a season two. To which he replied that he is willing to do another installment. However, he didn’t mention if the show will be coming back or not.
Since there has been no announcement, we can stay hopeful that we will see another season soon. If the show gets a renewal now, we may get to see it by 2021. But there is no confirmation or news regarding the same. The producer and studio are very well known for keeping secrets when it comes to schedule release. I guess we will only know more with time.
Prison School Season 2 Cast
If the second installment happens, we are hoping to see the same voice cast return like Hiroshi Kamiya as Kiyoshi Fujino, Katsuyuki Konishi as Takehito Morokuzu, Kenichi Suzumura as Shingo Wakamoto, Daisuke Namikawa as Joji Nezu, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Reiji Ando, Sayaka Ohara as Mari Kurihara, Shizuka Itou as Meiko Shiraki and Kana Hanazawa as Hana Midorikawa.
The English voice cast was criticized for its voice acting and writing. It is unclear if we will see the same voice cast like Austin Tindle as Kiyoshi Fujino, Eric Vale as Takehito Morokuzu, Clifford Chapin as Shingo Wakamoto, Christopher Bevins as Joji Nezu, Sonny Strait as Reiji Ando, Tia Ballard as Mari Kurihara, Whitney Rodgers as Meiko Shiraki and Alexis Tipton as Hana Midorikawa.
We will update you as soon as an announcement is made.
Recap: What Happened in season 1 of Prison School?
In season one, we saw that the rules of Hachimitsu School changed when they allowed boys into the school. During the first year, only five boys get in. The boys turned to be mischievous and try everything in their power to get closer to girls, including peeping into the girl’s washroom.
But they fail to do anything because of the USC (Underground School Council). After being caught, they are given two choices. Either they can stay in an internal prison for a month or get expelled. They choose the first and get into the prison. (check: Fairy Tail Season 10 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything So Far About Animated Series.)
Prison School Season 2 Plot: What will happen?
The show may likely pick up from where the OVA that was aired in 2016 left off. The boys were free from prison, and there was a beef between USC and ASC (Aboveground School Council).
We may get to see how the boys behave after being released from prison. Will they change or cause more troubles? It will be interesting to see how the girls will adjust to this new environment going forward.
Since the show has not been renewed, there has been no news regarding the plot as well. At this point, we can only guess. Let us know what you think can happen in season two? (check: Netflix’s Snowpiercer Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot, Trailer, and Everything So Far.)
