What was written in that Washington Post article?

Amber had written a post where she talked about how she had spoken up against domestic and sexual violence, but instead of support, she received backlash. People told her she wouldn’t get roles anymore. She was replaced in one of the movies she was connected to after the story had emerged.

Although there is no mention of Johnny Depp in the entire article, Depp claims that this article had cost him acting roles. While Depp has filed a case of defamation against Amber, she has countersued him for $100 million, stating that Depp defamed her when his legal team referred to her claims as fake and a sexual violence hoax.

What has happened in the trial so far?

If you haven’t been able to catch up with the trial, we have got you covered; here are the key points from the trial so far. Depp mentioned he has never hit any woman and that Heard was the one who was abusive and bullied him. He mentioned that it has escalated to points where there has been violence.

Amber stated that she has never assaulted Johnny. In 2015, Johnny and Amber had a fight in Australia. The duo has different accounts of stories about what happened. Depp states Amber threw a vodka bottle at him, which slashed his finger. He stated that after this, he was completely shocked and went on to write messages for Amber on the wall using his blood.

Amber stated that Depp sexually assaulted her that night and inserted a liquor bottle in her vagina in Australia. Amber stated that Depp had attacked her again and broke her nose a few months after the Australia incident.

While Amber’s legal team produced photos in front of the jury, which included scars on her arm that was visible as she posed on a red carpet and redness and swelling around an eye that she said was struck by a phone thrown by Depp.

However, Johnny’s legal team took photos from the events around the same time as their fights, and the picture appeared to show no injuries. They also suggested that Heard edited photos to make the redness appear more than it was. In contrast, Amber denied the allegations of editing photos.

Psychologist Shannon Curry testified, saying Heard shows symptoms of borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder. Shannon stated Heard has claimed to have PTSD from her relationship with Depp, and she found it to be exaggerated.

Dr. Dawn Hughes mentioned an instance where Depp had done a cavity search of Heard to look for drugs. She stated it often happens in a drug-fuelled rage.

Heard said that Depp had various personalities depending on his drugs. Heard claimed that the Washington Post article was not about Depp. It was only related to her life after Depp.

Heard’s sister took the stand and said she had personally witnessed Depp hitting Heard.
To conclude, we all have been waiting to see where this trial will end; there are a few possible outcomes from this trial. Either Amber or Johnny may win and get the compensation they are claiming. Neither of them gets the compensation. Either Amber or Johnny wins but gets less than what they are asking for. The last outcome could be an out-of-court settlement.
